Fantagraphics' Eros Comix imprint was launched in the early 1990s as an outlet for adult-themed and erotic comics. Designed to support the main publishing line financially, Eros showcased a wide range of explicit, experimental, and often artistically ambitious work from underground and international creators. While provocative, the imprint became a notable space for exploring sexuality through a creative, uncensored lens.
