Kingdom of Illusions is the story of a 65 year old man's fight for his survival in a corrupt, brutal and' drug infested society, where not even the young can survive. William Garfield Sinclair at 65 could have been think-ing of retirement. In fact this flamboyant company director left Australia for Thailand on a new business venture and a whole new life. At this stage Sinclair did not realize he was stepping into a nightmare.

A web of deceit, lies and corruption offering no escape, which would drastically change his life. He could not have known that he was to become the victim of corrupt Thai officials and over zealous Australian law enforcement officers. They labelled him, 'Mr Big' of drugs in Australia. His hearing was the longest narcotic trial in the history of Thailand.

Sinclair was sentenced to 33 years and 8 months for financing heroin trafficking - he was meant to die in that Bangkok hell hole. Three years and 8 months after his arrest he was aquitted and returned to Australia on a bond of 1,000,000 baht ($A41,750). At 69 he'd been to hell and back.
