Psychiatry To-day - David Stafford Clark
David Stafford-Clark is a Consultant Psychiatrist at a London Teaching Hospital; he is also Lecturer in Psychopathology to Reading University and Psychiatrist to a Children's Reception Centre in the London County Council. Formerly he held a Nuffield Medical Fellowship and has carried out research in England and America, where he spent some time travelling extensively through the United States, Canada, and Mexico. While in America he worked in the Massachusetts General Hospital and was a Teaching Fellow of Harvard. During the war he served in the Royal Air Force, became a medical parachutist, and was twice mentioned in despatches.
Apart from a number of contributions to professional journals and chapters in textbooks, he has published two books of poetry and some travel articles about Europe and America. He was married in 1941 and has four children.
