                    "Nightwings" is a science fiction novella written by Robert Silverberg, originally published in 1969. It is set in a far-future Earth where humanity has spread out across the stars and encountered various alien civilizations.
The story follows a trio of characters: Avluela, a woman of the Nightwings, a group of pilgrims who travel the skies seeking signs of an impending apocalypse; Roquen, a former soldier who now serves as Avluela's protector; and Joaz Banbeck, a historian who joins them on their journey.
