Backjumps Issue 14 was published in 1998 and is part of the original run of the influential Berlin graffiti magazine created by Adrian Nabi. The magazine ran from 1994 to 2002, documenting graffiti writing across Europe and internationally during a period when the scene was exploding beyond its New York roots.
By the time Issue 14 came out, Backjumps had evolved from a small fanzine into one of the most respected European graffiti publications, known for its dense photo spreads of trains, walls, and blackbooks, along with interviews and scene reports. The magazine focused heavily on style writing culture, showing pieces from writers across Germany, France, Scandinavia, the UK, and the U.S., capturing the raw energy of late-1990s graffiti.
Issue 14 is remembered for continuing that formula: lots of full-page colour photos of burners and wholecars, international submissions, and documentation of crews and writers active in the late-90s European train-writing era. Copies typically feature a distinctive graffiti cover (often credited to writer SHAME) and the usual mix of photo sections, sketches, and scene documentation that made Backjumps feel more like a visual archive of the culture than a conventional magazine.
