Bat - Primitive Age

BAT's Primitive Age demo is a filthy, adrenaline-fueled tribute to the earliest days of speed metal, punk and thrash. Released in 2013 by the Richmond, Virginia trio, the five-track recording sounds like it was unearthed from a forgotten tape-trading network somewhere between Motörhead, Venom, Tank and the rawest corners of the early 1980s underground. Songs like “BAT,” “Total Wreckage,” “Code Rude,” “Rule of the Beast” and the title track race by on sharp riffs, snarling vocals and relentless energy, capturing the excitement of a band more interested in attack than perfection.

Recorded on analog tape, Primitive Age embraces a rough, authentic sound that perfectly suits its old-school influences. The demo has earned a cult following among metal and punk fans thanks to its infectious riffs, rebellious attitude and obvious love for the era that produced classics like Black Metal, Kill 'Em All and Morbid Tales.
