Big Brother Issue #48 (May 1999) combines extensive skateboarding coverage with the irreverent interviews and pop culture detours that defined the magazine during its late 1990s peak. Built around a Florida road trip, the issue balances serious skateboarding with the deliberately outrageous humour that helped distinguish Big Brother from every other skate publication of the era.

The lead feature follows the magazine's Florida Tour, documenting skate sessions, travel mishaps and life on the road, while interviews with Steve-O, long before the launch of Jackass, Felix Arguelles, Matt Milligan and photographer Dave Duren provide insight into the personalities shaping skateboarding from behind and in front of the camera. Contest coverage includes reports from both the Tampa Amateur Contest and the Vans Amateur Contest, alongside the magazine's regular News, Goddamn Ams, Product Reviews, Video Reviews, CD Reviews, Satanic Scrapbook and Last Call sections.

Outside skateboarding, the issue ventures into music and popular culture with interviews and features on Vanilla Ice, Kid Rock, Cheazy-E and a then largely unknown Eminem, capturing a moment just before his mainstream breakthrough. Rounded out by the satirical Boy Power! feature and the magazine's trademark offbeat editorial voice, Issue #48 is a vivid snapshot of late 1990s skate culture, where professional skateboarding, underground music and unapologetically juvenile humour collided on almost every page. Minor wear to cover.
