Big Brother 69

Issue #69, February 2001 is Big Brother taking the idea of a skate magazine and gleefully turning it inside out with “Worst Articles Ever.” Arlo Eisenberg, Mike Crum, Black Label in Japan and an Earl Parker Afterlife feature lead the main section, while the aptly titled “Small, Horrible Articles” takes aim at bad skate trends, the Long Beach Long Jump, OPM and Paul Plimley. It’s a particularly good snapshot of Big Brother’s knack for taking the skate industry, its personalities and its own conventions and making them the punchline. Regular sections include skatepark and product reviews, Potpourri, Skate Tools, video game reviews and Last Call.
