Fly Wheels Magazine (Japan)
Fly Wheels is one of Japan’s most respected hot-rod, custom-car, and motorcycle culture magazines, blending American-style kustom kulture with Japanese craftsmanship, photography, and design. Unlike technical automotive magazines, Fly Wheels treats machines as part of a wider lifestyle — featuring hot rods, choppers, lowbrow art, fashion, vintage Americana, photography, and subculture all under the same roof.
Each issue is packed with beautifully shot photo spreads, traditional rods, custom bikes, shop visits, vintage-inspired styling, event coverage, and the everyday personalities who shape the scene. It has a very distinct retro-Americana aesthetic filtered through Japanese taste: clean layouts, heavy paper stock, rich photography, and a love for the 1940s–1970s custom era.
Fly Wheels is collectible, long-running, and internationally admired because it doesn’t just document machines — it documents culture, craft, and identity, making it a cornerstone of Japan’s custom-vehicle community.
