Fuknoath Zine #7.5 – “Missing” Issue
The issue opens with a mystery: Benjamin Barry Cox, last seen skating Jimmy’s Ramp at 8PM on a Thursday, has vanished. The tone is a mix of humor and suspicion, perfectly in line with Fuknoath's punk-inflected skate ethos. The zine unfolds like a ransom note stitched together from crusty curb sessions, offbeat interviews, and chaotic layout choices.
The first feature, "Why?", sets the tone—existential dread and skateboarding absurdity wrapped into a few dense pages. That’s followed by "Debastating Debbie", likely an irreverent anecdote or wild story, before veering into "The Trickster: Payper Brew", which hints at a fictitious or satirical profile piece.
Heavy-hitter Chima Ferguson drops his Top 3s, while Beau Reid gets grilled in "Job Stoppers", a recurring feature diving into skaters’ self-sabotage or career-ending antics. Jack Fardell is profiled in "The Adult", giving us a look at one of Australia’s most powerful skaters, likely framed with sarcasm and admiration in equal measure.
The chaos continues with Jake Duncombe, whose piece titled "Frappuccinos" probably pokes fun at skate celebrity and indulgence, while Jake Hayes gets called the "Bad Ass Tinder Man", suggesting stories from his dating life or online shenanigans.
Michael ‘Davo’ Davidson is spotlighted in "Comin’ Up", followed by a surprise: Davo’s Poetry Corner—a rare blend of street grit and sensitive lyricism. The back pages feature "Disgustica" by Sparkes, likely a grotesque tale or visual piece. BMX makes a cameo with "Mondo BMX Maneuver", and Dane Burman drops a 50-50 into something sketchy, no doubt.
Finally, Dennis Durrant’s segment, titled "The Truth", hints at a more serious or reflective piece—if only briefly—before the issue fades out into the ether of "Amnesia".
Unpolished, unapologetic, and likely stapled together in someone's shed, Fuknoath #7.5 is pure DIY skate zine gold.
