Germes Gang – Contemporary Landscapes is a grimy, hyperactive take on modern life through the eyes of the Portugese graffiti crew. Equal parts gallery provocation and street scrawl chaos, it smashes together vandalism, pop culture, dystopia, and filth. The “landscapes” are polluted—visually and culturally—rendered in their signature crude lines, warped characters, and anti-aesthetic defiance. It's graffiti as social decay, loud and unapologetically gross.

A book of drawings by Lisbon-based street art quartet Germes Gang. Known for incorporating unique transformations of cartoon and video game characters into their body of work, Germes Gang juxtapose real and imaginary icons to highlight points of obsession—“TV shows, brands, sports, and the low life.” All the works in this publication were created on an iPad, and brim with debauched popular culture references.

“From The Simpsons to Vegeta, weed, cigars and sparkling water too, rethink the cartoons of your childhood with the turbulent times of today with the [G]ang’s latest print publication.” — Lucy Bourton for It's Nice That, 2018

Germes Gang is a notorious European graffiti crew known for their chaotic, anti-style approach—raw tags, twisted characters, and grotesque humor plastered across walls, trains, and zines. Blending punk energy with crude satire, their work mocks graffiti norms while carving out a loud, filthy space of their own in the scene.
