The Boxer From Another Dimension

The Boxer from Another Dimension is the first issue of Escape Comics, featuring a bizarre, heavily stylised adventure by Eli Abidin and Jacob Pilkington. The story introduces a strange cast of characters including Captain Denmark, with the action moving through surreal, otherworldly settings filled with shadowy figures, strange machines and larger-than-life characters.

Presented entirely in stark black-and-white artwork, the comic has a deliberately pulp-inspired look, with oversized lettering, dramatic compositions and a suitably strange science-fiction atmosphere. The opening declares that “the world needs saving” and introduces Captain Denmark as the hero who can do it, while the main story follows the mysterious Boxer from another dimension. A very distinctive small-press comic with a wonderfully oddball visual style.
