HXC GFX 1990's

Hardcore Graphics 1990's is a 16 page collage zine celebrating the raw visual language of 1990s hardcore. Drawing from original flyers, fanzines, record sleeves and DIY ephemera, it assembles a dense collection of logos, hand-drawn typefaces, symbols and illustrated graphics that defined the era's underground aesthetic.

The decade saw hardcore's visual identity evolve into something instantly recognisable. Rough photocopies, distressed lettering, stark black-and-white illustrations and aggressively hand-crafted layouts reflected the scene's fiercely independent spirit. Many of the graphics featured here revolve around the ideals that shaped the culture, including straight edge, anti-racism, equality, animal rights and anti-fascist activism, showing how political messages and graphic design became inseparable.

Rather than a history, this zine is a visual archive. Every page is packed with authentic artwork that captures the energy, urgency and DIY ethos of a pre-internet subculture where photocopiers, scissors and glue sticks were the tools of communication.
