A beautifully balanced issue mixing lowbrow royalty, street intervention, Japanese pop influence, and hyper-detailed surrealism. The structure runs through intro, style sheet, collector, profiles, commentary, Showstoppers, events, reviews, insider notes, Pop Life, and a final perspective — a full, classic Juxtapoz sweep.
Yoshitomo Nara leads with his iconic blend of innocence and menace, bringing that unmistakable big-eyed, big-attitude pop energy. ZEVS shifts the tone into sharp urban critique with his liquidated logos and billboard interventions. Todd Schorr anchors the mid-section with dense, baroque, cartoon-fueled psychedelia, while Steve Van Doren ties in skate heritage and Vans culture. Travis Louie adds eerie, Victorian-styled monster portraiture; Rob Sato and Joe To deliver painterly, narrative-driven illustration; and Rinpa Eshidan closes things out with their stop-motion-infused, collaborative street-painting style. A rich, colourful, tightly curated issue — playful, weird, and visually loaded, perfect for RB’s art-heavy shelves.
