Mallrats

Kevin Smith’s Mallrats takes place over one gloriously aimless day at a New Jersey shopping mall, where two recently dumped slackers, Brodie and T.S., try to win back their girlfriends while dodging security guards, game show producers, comic book debates and an endless parade of weird mall characters. What starts as a simple breakup story quickly turns into a parade of deadpan conversations, ridiculous schemes and wonderfully immature life advice.

Packed with comic book references, crude jokes and the laid-back energy of 1990s alternative culture, Mallrats has become a cult favorite thanks to its quotable dialogue, oddball side characters and refusal to take anything seriously. It’s part romantic comedy, part hangout movie, and mostly an excuse to spend time with a collection of lovable idiots wandering the food court.
