Oral Sadism and the Vegetarian Personality - Edited by Glenn C. Ellenbogen

A satirical collection of selections from the Journal of Polymorphous Perversity, poking fun at the jargon, inflated claims and professional pretensions of psychotherapy and psychological research. Featuring contributions that lampoon psychotherapists, psychoanalysts, clinical psychologists, statisticians and other professionals, the book turns the serious language of the mental health disciplines back on their practitioners. Endorsed by psychiatrists Judd Marmor and Michael R. Zales, it offers a deliberately irreverent look at the world of psychological theory and practice, with the promise of plenty of academic in-jokes for readers familiar with the field.
