In Utero is Nirvana pushing back against the massive success of Nevermind. Released in 1993 and produced by Steve Albini, the album is louder, harsher and far less polished, capturing the band with all the rough edges left intact. Tracks like "Heart-Shaped Box," "Rape Me," "All Apologies" and "Serve the Servants" balance abrasive noise with some of Kurt Cobain's strongest songwriting, making for an album that's both confrontational and deeply vulnerable. Rather than chasing another blockbuster, In Utero doubled down on the band's punk roots, and it's often regarded as their most uncompromising studio record.
This release has omitted the track 'Rape Me' and replaced it with 'Sappy.' It also contains a wrap around J card and lyric booklet.
