Numbers Skateboards was founded in 2016 by skateboarding icons Eric Koston and Guy Mariano following their departure from Girl Skateboards the year prior. Seeking independence and a new creative direction, the two pioneers built Numbers as a platform rooted in street skating, art, and experimentation.
The name Numbers emerged from a playful exchange with Mark Gonzales and reflects the language of skateboarding itself. Stairs are counted, boards are measured, tricks are catalogued. Skateboarding, at its core, is a game of numbers.
