Paradax 1
Paradax 1
Former cabbie Al Cooper is Paradax, the world’s greatest super-hero and an all-around good guy. He loves his girlfriend, Kooper Keen, even though he occasionally dreams of Lola, a girl he knew (several times) in high school, and he regularly saves New York City from certain destruction. Garbed in garish primary colors, Paradax uses the abilities granted him by his super-suit to take down such threats as Dr. Sex, Jack Empty, Shudder, and Twitch—the mad creations of the evil lunatic Stammer Two. Paradax’s adventures are backed up by Roaring’s Rantings, which introduces two blustering old fools named Rudcliff and Williams, and Mirkin the Mystic, the otherworldly non-adventures of a man who takes tea with the likes of Oscar Wilde, Quentin Crisp, and Aubery Beardsley. All of this stuff comes from the minds of Peter Milligan (Animal Man, Shade, The Changing Man) and Brendan McCarthy (2000 A.D., The Ballad of Halo Jones), and while it’s a bit on the odd side, it’s certainly fun.
Stories included are: Paradax the Insane People; Mirkin the Mystic: The Importance of Being Mirkin; Roaring’s Rantings: Rudcliff & Williams in Blithe Horizons; Ruff and Reddy
