A compact collection of traditional card effects and close-up routines rooted in classic principles, presented with a straightforward, performance-focused approach. Ricardo leans on proven plots and familiar structures, refining them into practical pieces that work cleanly in intimate settings without unnecessary complication.
The material emphasises clarity, timing, and smooth handling, allowing each effect to land with confidence and ease. It’s a no-nonsense selection built for real-world use, where strong fundamentals and thoughtful presentation turn well-known ideas into reliable, engaging magic.
Though he released his magic under his stage name ("Ricardo"), Frank Pemper was well-known to the magic underground of the late 1970's. His booklets were limited releases that always had some interesting thinking and approaches.
As the name implies, this booklet deals with card stuff and close up items. See the photo of the inside cover, which has the contents listed there.
Pemper assumes a fair amount of card knowledge in his readers, (because his booklets tended to be purchased by experienced magicians), so some of his descriptions do not go into detail on how to do the sleights involved.
