By Volume 3, Space Ghost Coast to Coast has stopped pretending to be a talk show and evolved into its own wonderfully bizarre form of television. The celebrity interviews are still there, technically, but they're often buried beneath awkward pauses, random tangents, petty arguments and the kind of surreal logic that makes perfect sense until you try explaining it to someone else.

What makes these episodes so entertaining is the complete commitment to the bit. Space Ghost remains hilariously self-important, Zorak is as disruptive as ever, and Moltar continues to look like a man counting the minutes until retirement. The guests drift in and out of conversations that seem held together with chewing gum and cosmic radiation, while the show's writers squeeze every possible laugh out of silence, absurdity and deliberate nonsense. Weird without trying too hard, and clever without showing off, Volume 3 captures a series that was years ahead of its time and still feels unlike anything else on television.
