Igor is Tyler, the Creator at his most focused and emotionally messy, turning heartbreak into a genre-blurring concept album. Released in 2019, it pulls together hip hop, funk, soul, synth-pop and R&B into a dense, self-produced record that feels more like a continuous piece than a collection of singles.

Tracks like "EARFQUAKE," "A BOY IS A GUN*" and "NEW MAGIC WAND" swing between obsession, jealousy and acceptance, all wrapped in warped synths, pitched vocals and huge hooks. It was a bold left turn that paid off, earning Tyler his first Grammy for Best Rap Album while sounding unlike just about anything else in the category.
