Bell is back after an epic journey watching western films, wearing cowboy boots, slinging cap guns and making collages - all from the comfort of his bedroom.
These selected works highlight Bells on going fascination with the Australian vernacular. Particular interest is given to the romanticising of masculinity through the interpretation of thecowboy, being contextualised in relation to the classical nude, western films and Australian car culture. The female muse is examined from a pop/male perspective with references made to Marilyn Monroe,
Christina Ricci, Beladonna and Marlboro girls.
Homage is also paid to the work of Vincent Gallow (Buffalo 66), Win Wenders (Paris Texas), Richard Prince, Terry Richardson and John Baldaseri.
