This issue of VICE mixes sharp literary edge, visual chaos, and subcultural energy. The cover, shot by Maggie Lee with model Jennifer Shear, sets a tone that’s both gritty and self-aware. Inside, Sam McPheeters debuts his first novel, while Amanda Maxwell’s Glazed Cruller and Robert Ferrigno’s Bad Dog keep the fiction section punchy and irreverent. Kenneth Gangemi contributes six short stories that are strange, dry, and brilliantly off-center.

The interviews are stacked: Martin Amis and Ursula K. Altogether, it’s a wild and intelligent issue—equal parts underground, literary, and mischievous.
